First Impressions & Process
The process at Fixture Pizza Pub is straightforward and welcoming. The host will seat you following standard restaurant protocol. When we visited on a Sunday afternoon, they had one half of the restaurant closed, which kept the space feeling appropriately sized rather than cavernous.
The bathrooms are nicely located in the center opposite the bar. Doesn't get any easier than this. The thoughtful layout means you're never far from what you need, whether that's the restroom, the bar, or your server.
The space itself has character. Established in 2016, Fixture occupies an old building in Walker's Point with plenty of personality. The design work by Milwaukee's 360 Designs creates a modern pub atmosphere that feels both trendy and approachable.
The Food: What We Ordered
We started with wings in two flavors: Garlic Parm and Buffalo. These wings delivered exactly what you want. Still crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, with generous sauce coverage. The Garlic Parm had that perfect savory richness, while the Buffalo brought the heat without being overwhelming. Wings are available in portions of 6, 12, or 18, with your choice of flavors including hot ginger, garlic parmesan, and buffalo, and you can get your sauces on the side if you prefer.
Next came the Fat Daddy Pizza. The crust was light and crisp and held up even with bacon, sausage, pepperoni, and ground beef on it. That's the real test of a pizza crust, can it support all those heavy toppings without turning into a soggy mess? The Fat Daddy passed with flying colors. We opted for the thin crust, but the thick crust looked fantastic as well on pizzas going to other tables.
Fixture offers Milwaukee-style pizza with sauce placed over the cheese, a style the co-owners Jake and Josh Taylor grew up with and wanted to bring to their restaurant. The thin crust is super thin and ultra crispy, while the deep dish option provides a tasty, pleasantly doughy crust without being overstuffed.
Drinks & Bar
Simple yet strong beer offerings with rotating taps and a full bar round out the menu. The beer selection covers both craft options and familiar favorites, and the bartenders know their way around a cocktail. If you're driving with family, there are plenty of non-alcoholic options as well.
Seating & Space
The seating layout at Fixture works well for groups of all sizes. Six booths line the walls, with a half dozen or so four-tops scattered throughout. An 8-top long table accommodates larger groups, and five or so two-tops handle couples or smaller parties. Bar seating offers maybe 10-12 stools for those who prefer to sit at the bar.
There's plenty of space for traffic flow, which matters when you're navigating a busy restaurant with kids in tow. On the Sunday afternoon we visited, we didn't notice anyone having to wait for a table, though we made it in before what would likely be an evening rush.
Atmosphere & Family Friendliness
This is where Fixture Pizza Pub really stands out. The music is loud enough to cover up conversations and keep you from being self-conscious about your kids' volume. That might sound like a small thing, but any parent who's tried to enjoy a meal while constantly shushing their children knows how valuable this is.
The high booths mean kids can't jump around and bother the folks behind you. Again, a thoughtful design detail that makes a huge difference for families. You can relax and let your kids be kids without worrying about disrupting everyone else's dinner.
The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance between lively and comfortable. It's upbeat without being chaotic, busy without feeling cramped. The old building's character adds warmth without feeling dated, and the modern touches keep it feeling fresh.
Service Experience
The host and wait staff were good. They checked in frequently enough to cover any needs for food and drinks but not too much to be overwhelming. With kids, this balance matters. You need attentive service to handle the inevitable spills and requests, but you don't want a server hovering constantly.
The staff seemed genuinely welcoming, and co-owner Jake Taylor's philosophy of "because who doesn't love pizza?" extends to the service approach. Everyone who works here seems to understand they're in the business of making people happy, one pizza at a time.
What Makes Fixture Pizza Pub Special
In Milwaukee's competitive pizza scene, Fixture Pizza Pub has carved out its niche by focusing on Milwaukee-style pizza and creating a genuinely family-friendly environment. The Taylor brothers brought their childhood pizza memories to life with some adjustments to make the recipes their own.
The commitment to being locally owned and operated shows in the details. They strive to promote and support neighboring businesses and nightlife in Walker's Point, creating a community hub rather than just another restaurant.
The menu diversity helps too. Beyond pizzas, they offer snacks, appetizers, charbroiled oysters, soups, salads, sandwiches, and pasta. When you're feeding a family or a group with different preferences, having options beyond pizza makes everyone happy.
The Verdict: Is Fixture Pizza Pub Worth It?
Absolutely. Solid food offerings across the board, but where this place really shines is its family friendliness. It's a great spot to take the family, and the menu has something everyone will enjoy. The Fat Daddy Pizza proved that their thin crust can handle the weight of multiple toppings, the wings were crispy and flavorful, and the atmosphere made dining with kids actually enjoyable.
The thoughtful design details, from the high booths to the music volume to the convenient bathroom location, show that someone really thought about what makes a restaurant work for families.

Final Thoughts
Fixture Pizza Pub delivers exactly what a family-friendly pizza pub should: solid food, attentive service, and an atmosphere where you can actually relax and enjoy your meal without stress. The Fat Daddy Pizza's thin crust held up beautifully under all those toppings, the wings were crispy and delicious, and the beer selection satisfied the adults at the table.
